Chop the cap molding so that the corners are mitered (45 degree angles) and fit tightly together. Spend wood glue to bond the molding to the door and expend trim nails from a finishing nail gun to secure the moldings while the glue drys. Steal hinges that are not visible from the exterior. This will give your cabinets a custom look.
