Viking vs. Kitchenaid stand mixer?
Hey Everyone, I’ve had my heart set on a good stand mixer for years and I’m treating myself to one (finally!).
I did a bit of online review searching and found the Viking mixer (which I think is gorge in white) beats the Kitchenaid hands down. It’s a bit pricier, but I think it’ll be worth it.

I do not wish to discourage you from purchasing a Viking stand mixer and I realize you have done some research online …but
a Viking mixer is over twice the cost of a 5 quart Kitchenaid and although it is possible to get a “lemon” from either company (any company), let me share my experience.
I bake frequently, both at home and at my restaurant. It really is one of my favorite things to do. I own several mixers, thank goodness!
A Hobart machine was used at the restaurant for many years. When it finally needed to be replaced, I bought a KitchenAid. In fact, I bought two 5 quart KitchenAids. They are used every day, several times a day, for a variety of tasks. After four years they are still working fine.
I have another 5 quart KitchenAid at home. I use it for a variety of jobs including kneading dough for bread and cookies (with my grand daughter’s “help”). So far I haven’t had any problems with the machine.
I have tried a Viking, as well. It was much noisier than any other mixer I have personally used. I would have expected a better overall performance from the Viking ($525 USD) than from the Kitchenaid ($200 USD). Not true.
Think seriously about the KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart. It is a new series by KitchenAid.
