When making curtains for a kitchen what do you prefer: tab top curtains or with a curtain rod pocket?

They’ll be hanging just under the window not to the floor. Please choose either one (no one really cares how much anyone else loves a polka dotted velvet sash skewn over a curtain rod as a valance, but no offense). lol. Thank you.
It’s an older place with a country “down home” feeling kitchen… I’m leaning towards pocket, but I’m afraid because I’ve only ever made tabs…. *winces*

Tab have that down home country kinda feel.

Rod pockets are less trendy though. They will still be ‘in style’ ten years from now (if that makes a difference)
